Your Privacy Rights & "Do Not Sell or Share" Request
Under laws like the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and similar regulations, California residents (and, in some cases, residents of other states with comparable laws) have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of their personal information. Lux Mentis Limited respects your right to privacy and provides you with the ability to exercise this right.
Although Lux Mentis Limited does not sell personal information for money, we do engage in certain data sharing practices that could be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under the CCPA's broad definitions. For example, we allow third-party advertising and analytics partners to collect certain information about our users (such as device identifiers, browsing actions, and usage data) to help deliver personalized ads and measure campaign effectiveness. This kind of data sharing, where one company uses your information for cross-context behavioral advertising, may legally be viewed as a "sale" or "share" of data even if no money is exchanged.

How to Submit a "Do Not Sell or Share" Request:

We may need your email or other identifier to locate your data. Submitting this form will record your preference that we should not share your personal data with third parties for purposes that could be considered a sale or targeted advertising.
- In-App Settings: If you have an account with us, you can go to the app's settings or privacy section. Look for an option labeled "Do Not Sell My Personal Information" or "Opt-Out of Data Sharing for Ads." Toggle this option to "opt-out." Our system will then flag your account and device to opt out of relevant third-party data sharing. (If you use multiple devices, you may need to set this on each one.)
- Email: You may also send an email to privacy@casameal.cc with the subject line "Do Not Sell My Personal Information." Please include your name, the email associated with your account (if you have one), and a clear statement that you wish to opt out of the sale/sharing of your data. Once we receive and process your email request (and verify it, if necessary), we will implement the opt-out.
- Global Privacy Control: If you use a browser or extension that emits a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, our website will treat that as a valid opt-out request for that browser, and automatically disable third-party trackers within our site to the extent they involve sale/sharing of data. (Note: This works for website interactions; for our mobile app, please use the methods above.)
What Happens After You Opt-Out:
Once you have submitted a "Do Not Sell or Share" request and we have processed it:
- We will stop sharing your personal information with third parties for advertising and similar purposes not directly necessary for our Service. This means third-party advertising networks will be instructed not to use your data to tailor ads based on your activity in our Service.
- If any data had been shared that could be considered a "sale" under law, we will direct the recipient to not further sell or share that data.
- You should still be able to use our Service without any degradation in experience. You will continue to see advertising in our free version (if applicable), but those ads may be less relevant to you. They might be more generic or contextual rather than personalized.
- We will maintain a record of your opt-out request as required by law, and periodically we may prompt you (as allowed) to confirm if you want to remain opted out (this is a legal allowance to ensure we have up-to-date preferences, but we will not do this in an intrusive way).
Please note: If you clear your cookies, use a different device/browser, or are not logged in, your opt-out may not be recognized until you opt out again on that device or browser. For the most consistent result, we recommend logged-in users use the in-app setting so that the preference is tied to your account. We also recommend using GPC or browser-level settings for web to cover all bases.
Confirmation and Additional Information:
After submitting your request through any method, you should receive a confirmation (either on screen or via email) acknowledging that we have received your opt-out and will honor it. If you do not receive confirmation within a reasonable time (e.g., 15 days), please reach out to us at privacy@casameal.cc to ensure we received your request.
We will comply with your opt-out request within the timeframe required by applicable law (for CCPA, this is typically within 15 business days, and we'll inform any third parties to stop selling/sharing as well).
Opting out of sale/sharing does not affect other kinds of data transfers. We may still share your information with service providers and other parties as described in our Privacy Policy for non-advertising purposes (for example, with our cloud storage provider, or if you direct us to share data with a third party for an integration). Those transfers are not considered "sales" under the law.
If you are not a California resident, you may still use these opt-out mechanisms. We will honor them in the same way, even if not legally required, because we believe in giving users control over their data.
